Chocolate Chip Cookies

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup cane sugar granulated is good, I typically buy course cane sugar and I love the texture it gives the cookies
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract I honestly don’t always measure
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • chocolate chips I measure these with my heart

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • Using a mixer (if possible), cream together the butter, cane sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla
  • Gradually add in the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Add chocolate chips and mix well so they evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Roll the dough into balls, however big or small you want your cookies.
  • Bake in preheated oven for approximately 10-14 minutes. Take them out when they are just barely starting to turn brown. I take them out before they look done and let them sit to give a gooey, chewy cookie!
